The
Hebrew word translated intercessor is "paga." It has multiple
meanings so there are multiple uses of it in the Bible. It is
a perpetually constant work of Jesus who ever lives to make
intercessions for us (Heb. 7:25). So it follows that He would
make it a work of the followers, too. A very good book on the
meanings and expressions of intercession has been produced by Dutch
Sheets entitled "Intercession."
We recommend it for your
instruction and edification.
While
there are many seasoned intercessors out there, there are many more
that lack understanding of the things that affect them and how to
handle them. Therefore, one on one personal training and
instruction is a part of the ministry of SPMI. However we have
come to understand that it is not the ideal that there should be
many solitary intercessors. We are closer to the ideal as we
act on the God established unity of The Body of Christ and practice
Corporate Prayer. God has given SPMI grace to fulfill its
mission. Without that grace SPMI could not achieve anything
towards the calling to prayer. We do not do God's work for
Him, we do His works BY Him. It is no longer I who live but
Christ within me (Galatians 2:20).
