Evangelism is a New Testament word,
not because there never were converts to Judaism, but the Jews did not
and do not encourage or promote conversion - they don't evangelize.
But Jesus changed the pattern and took the concept of hospitality to a
new level. He told parables about Kings who commanded that the
highways and alleys and hedgerows of the land be searched and that the
disenfranchised be compelled to come to their feasts in place of the
haughty friends who make excuses. Jesus welcomed the forbidden - He
healed the lame, the blind, and the sick inside the courts of the
Temple after He cleansed it of the moneychangers and crooks.
Jesus commended
to us a partnership with Him to seek out and welcome the weary and
heavy laden for whom He has rest. In a very unique way that comes
across as the most natural of things the believers of Ghana who
operate a business show the joy they have in their salvation in the
way they name their businesses. Below is a photo sampling of
businesses similar to those William & Pat Lumry have seen on their
trips to Ghana. We pray that you will be infected with the joy of
salvation and that the testimony of it will become as plain to others
in your world as some of these Ghanian folks have made it in theirs.
